Meet Amber, Your Local Professional Dog Trainer

Arlington Dog Trainer and Dog

Home Dog Training in Arlington Texas!

I'm Amber Furchess, your local Bark Busters Dog Trainer in Arlington. My passion for helping dogs and their owners runs deep, and I understand firsthand how challenging it can be to deal with behavioral issues. Years ago, my 11-year-old dog had serious sibling rivalry with another dog, leading to aggressive behavior. I felt overwhelmed and didn't know where to turn until I discovered Bark Busters. Learning to be the leader my dog needed transformed our lives.

Today, I'm proud to say that I’ve trained hundreds of dogs and, just as importantly, have empowered their owners to communicate effectively with their pets, leading to happier, more harmonious households. I love what I do and am excited about the possibility of working with you to help your dog become a well-behaved, cherished member of your family.

Amber was amazing! In just one session she taught us how to communicate with our 6 year old Weimaraner, Karl, and give him the direction he was craving. We know we will need to continue to reinforce but after that one session, Karl’s barking, pulling and reactivity has completely changed because we now have the tools to guide him. After dealing with mind-numbing barking for months, our new home is now peaceful and calm!
Amber came and changed our life with Dennis he was responding in just a hour of training. His a whole different dog. Amber you are really a dog whisper lol
Amber was great
Good points and ideas
I cannot say enough about how wonderful Amber and her guidance on how to "speak dog" have been so helpful and literally life changing for both us and our girlies! Our golden retriever had the WORST anxiety. It was to the point that we could not take her outside of the house anywhere, not even the sidewalk in front of our house, as she would be visibly trembling and literally become incontinent. We were at our wit's end and did not know how to help her. Our vet wound up having to put her on three medications for anxiety, and we were saddened that it seemed she was calmer but was losing her personality. We got connected with Amber, and our golden retriever immediately fell in love with her. Amber has guided us with patience on how to be firm and follow through with our girl, and she has grown immensely from learning how to self-soothe during thunder storms, to no longer demanding pets or sticking to our feet everywhere we go (a "velcro dog," as Amber calls it), has started going on walks for the first time in her life, and can sit on place without moving when we leave the room for 4+ hours. The difference has been night and day, and we are so grateful.
When we added Belle to our family a couple of months ago, Nami regressed some, as she started being more impulsive, lacking the self-control to obey commands she has known since she was four months old, and not respecting boundaries when her sister is done or does not want to play. Amber was super flexible with scheduling coming over to our home and met Belle and gave us so many tools and so much guidance on how to command, take control, follow through, and affirm both of our girlies. By the time she departed our home, they were both making better choices and working hard to receive those positive reinforcements.

Every cent has been worth it. She is accessible, kind, loving, and so so helpful. 10/10 would recommend. Thank you so much, Amber! ❤️
Very informative and simple. Incredible difference on training day and excited to put it into practice.
It was a pleasure inviting Amber in our house to help with out dog issues. In a few short hours we learned so much and our dogs really responded really well. The difference in one day is night and day. Thankyou very much.
Extremely impressed with the progress and looking forward to the next phase of the program.
I saw great improvement and results just in this first session. Amber was amazing and answered all of my questions. We are really excited to continue working with her.
Amber was great. She showed us some basic training and communication techniques that were so effective. I am super excited to see Bailey's progress.
The dogs responded very well to the training and showed noticeable improvements. Amber is super out-going and easy to work with. Highly recommend for any dog issues.
We had a lot of issues with jumping on people and Amber in just a couple of hours, stopped the jumping on people and gave me a lot of training to continue with the dogs.
Amber is amazing. I was shocked to see the improvement in the few hours she spent with us and our 4 dogs. We are now looking forward to a calm home and happy pups. We learned we are the leaders and repetiton is key.
Great! Puppy responded great to all of the advice we were given.
Decker responded well to training and we saw immediate changes in his behavior. We are excited to continue working with him!
It was amazing seeing the difference in Deacon with what Amber showed us! She gave us hope that we CAN train our sweet pup! We are so relieved and excited!
Amber was amazing! In just one session she taught us how to communicate with our 6 year old Weimaraner, Karl, and give him the direction he was craving. We know we will need to continue to reinforce but after that one session Karl’s barking, pulling and reactivity has completely changed because we now have the tools to guide him. After dealing with mind-numbing barking for months, our new home is now peaceful and calm!
The training was informative and structured while still being personable.
Learned great tools to help Dixie be neutral with others in house and tools to help curb her reactivity at windows and on walks.
Amber came to our house two days ago to help us train our two pittie girls who are new to one another and were having many boundary and obedience issues. Amber was so detailed and thorough in teaching us how to communicate with our girls and by implementing what we have learned on a regular basis, we have already seen such a drastic difference! We have since had a calm household and we have been able to implement boundaries and manage play time between the two! We are so grateful and happy with what we have seen so far and look forward to continue being consistent and seeing Amber on the next session!
Amber is very patient, kind, and informative. She explained as she began to train our pup, Brooklyn. Brooklyn is a very rambunctious pup and Amber is helping us use techniques to curb her puppy teething. During the first session Brooklyn has already taken to basic commands such as "sit, down and come." Brooklyn has also been trained the "free" command when exiting her crate or playpen. She will not come out until we say "free." Pretty amazing.

Amber, we have alot of work ahead of us and we look forward to you training Brooklyn and especially to training her daddy, me! Of course my wife Jaclyn as well. She doesn't need training, just some guidance. Again, thank you very much.
Did a great job for the first time of training.
Amber came into my home and taught me how to claim back my personal space. So much improvement during the first session.
We were very impressed with Amber. She was very patient with us and our companions. The techniques she taught us are very helpful. The information she provided in continuing the training after she is gone will help us make sure our companions are successful in learning their new lessons.
Falkor acts as if he's been in training for years after this initial session. I am shocked that he has been "hiding" this good behavior and knowing how he's supposed to act for all this time. I feel good about being able to guide him to further awesome behavior.
Amber was very informative. Great session: covered more items than expected. Excited to continue working for a calm home environment!
We reached out to Bark Busters after being absolutely EXHAUSTED from ongoing barking and jumping issues with our young border collie. After working with Amber, we are AMAZED at the difference and are excited about our new, happy, calm pup. :)

Is Your Dog Barking Excessively?

Excessive barking doesn’t just cause headaches; it can also indicate an imbalance in your dog’s emotional or environmental needs. Frequent barking can indicate underlying issues such as stress, frustration, or excitement. At Bark Busters Arlington, we aim to address the root causes of this behavior to create a healthier and more harmonious relationship between you and your pet.

Why Do Dogs Bark?

Dogs bark for various reasons, including:

  • Attention-seeking: They may be demanding food, playtime, or a chance to go outside.
  • Territorial behavior: Barking might be a way to keep strangers, other dogs, or perceived threats at bay.
  • Discomfort or fear: They may bark to avoid a situation that feels unsafe or overwhelming.
  • Habitual behavior: Some dogs simply enjoy the sound of their own voice. Barking can be a self-rewarding behavior because it often achieves the desired outcome for the dog, reinforcing the habit over time.

Resolving Barking and Building a Better Relationship

Yes, we do want to quiet the excessive barking. However, you also want to build a better relationship while you're doing so. We will help to guide you to teach your pup what the right decisions are in the home so there's no confusion on the rules and boundaries. At Bark Busters Arlington, we teach dog owners how to effectively communicate with their pets. Our methods are simple, easy to implement, and highly effective. By learning how to "speak" your dog’s language, you can address the root causes of excessive barking and guide your pet toward healthier behaviors.

If you're struggling with this issue, please give a call to Bark Busters Arlington. You won't regret it!

How to Handle Multiple Dogs in Your Household

While adding a new dog to your family can bring joy, playfulness, and more love into your home, it can also lead to dog behavioral issues. Sibling rivalry is one of the most common behavioral issues we help owners with in multi-dog households.

Managing a household with multiple dogs requires strong leadership to maintain harmony. Many owners encounter behavioral challenges that can range from dogs not listening due to feeding off each other’s energy to more severe cases of dog aggression - and all kinds of issues in between! There are different types of sibling rivalry that can arise between dogs:

  • Resource Guarding: Dogs may guard items like food, toys, crates, or specific areas of the home, and even their human owners.
  • Age Difference: Introducing a puppy into a home with an older dog can create tension if the puppy’s constant playfulness annoys the older dog. Without clear rules and boundaries, this can lead to sibling rivalry.
  • Maturity Clashes: A younger dog reaching maturity may sense the vulnerability of a senior dog in the home and attempt to assert dominance, sometimes leading to aggressive behavior.
  • Littermate Syndrome: When two puppies of the same age, whether from the same litter or different litters, are raised together, they may bond more with each other than with the owner. This can result in feral behavior and, as they mature, increased likelihood of fighting.

Professional Dog Training Can Resolve Tensions

These are just a few issues that can arise in a multi-dog household. Dealing with these challenges can be stressful, but the good news is that with the right guidance, these tensions can be resolved. I have extensive experience with multi-dog households and sibling rivalry. While it requires time and consistency, achieving a peaceful home is possible! Working with a professional Bark Busters Trainer is essential to ensure success.
