Derek and Josh were absolutely amazing! Learned a ton about my dogs nutrition, they are always available to chat, and they are always so on top of everything. I honestly started out thinking I would have to give my dog away and I would seriously never even consider that.

Recently we got a new dog and brought her home to meet our older dogs. My other dogs weren't so thrilled to meet her and it was hard to face that we may have to give her back. Fortunately we found Derek and Josh. I've never learned so much about how to create such a healthy diet and atmosphere for my dogs. I am very very happy with the work these guys put in. They are always available to call when I have questions and I feel like I have a lot more control over my dogs behavior when they act up.

Derek was amazing in helping us teach our Stitch to be comfortable with guests & helped teach us to minimize his barking with easy instruction! He also suggested we prepare our dog’s food vs dry dog food which has made 100% a difference with our little Stitch! Now he’s had zero skin issues, he’s happier, at a healthy weight, needing less vet visits, & welcomes guests with a sweet, friendly demeanor! Clean eating has been so rewarding for Stitch in multiple ways & we’ve saved so much money on dog food plus we have peace of mind he is eating good nutrients & zero by-products. Derek with Bark Busters has helped immensely with our dog. We had reached out to Bark Busters initially in February on a Saturday and heard back from Derek on that Monday. Since our dog struggles with being reactive and barking at new people, on our first appointment Derek came with a training harness. He also came with a meal plan to help get my dog healthier on the inside which would help her with her overall behavior. He then walked us through the training, since the owners are the ones that need the most training, and within 10 minutes she was a completely different dog.

He gave us homework to make sure it sticks with her and he always answers our calls and texts.

I cannot recommend Bark Busters enough. We felt like we couldn't have people come over because our dog would get nervous and bark the whole time, but now we do a 20-30 minute protocol that Derek made and we can have anyone come over.

Yesterday, Lissette from Bark Busters came to our house and spent 3 hours working with us and all three of our dogs. Her results were amazing! It was probably harder to train the humans than the dogs but she was extremely patient. She gave us the needed equipment, instructions, and videos to be successful. She also promises unlimited support should we have any questions or concerns before our next visit. After following her instructions last night and then today, our dogs have already shown improvement in their behavior! I HIGHLY recommend Bark Busters to anyone who loves their dog(s) and wants to take back control of their environment.

Our puppy was not listening to anything we were saying whatsoever... we did all the reading and tried it all but we ultimately found out that the general tactics did not work. After a session with Derek, he was responding right away. We learned how to be better ourselves rather than expect unrealistic results from our young pup. With Derek, you learn how to address situations and to implement better behavior for the future - not just for your dog - but for you. We have a long ways to go, but definitely on the right track!!

My dogs have some obedience and behavioral issues that needed to be addressed.

I started my search for a dog trainer 24 hours ago. I'd known for at least a month that I wanted to get a trainer for my girls, but I really only started looking yesterday. I found Bark Busters through a Google search.

* Scheduling:
Tracy and Jason (who provided me information and set the whole thing up) are some of the kindest, most supportive and understanding people I've ever met in The Valley. Tracy was so patient and walked me through the process. I expressed that I was entertaining other offers and she was not pushy at all and understood we wanted what was best for our dogs.

Jason followed up after my call with Tracy and was so kind and empathetic towards our situation. I'm a full-time college student, working my first full-time job in my degree field. I also own my own home, so to say money is a little tight is an understatement. Jason was able to figure out a way to do a payment plan that worked FOR ME. There was no shady interest hidden in the fine print and he kept reiterating that they're not there for my money but for my dogs. They care that the animals in The Valley are safe and happy. Money comes later. We figured out what worked for my timeline and what I could make work. This is honestly a big reason I went with Bark Busters. Working with humans and not money hungry vultures made this decision 10x easier. Jason, you are amazing and I'm so thankful!

Jason also was able to get the trainers to my house THE DAY OF. That's right. I was able to call, figure out everything, and get Lissette to our home five hours later.

* Training:
Derek is amazing. I have yet to meet him in person, but he called me to introduce himself and talk more about himself and his mission through training. He answered every question and gave me so much confidence in getting what I needed from this new relationship. I can't wait to meet Derek in person. He's a very kind human being.

I can't say enough about Lissette. She is a miracle worker. Their methods WORK people. Like actually work. Lissette was in our home for, hmmm 10 minutes? And our huksy was attentive and listening to Lissette with ease. Lissette is phenomenal-- a true gem. She sat with us initially gaining insight into our lives and what we want out of this. She wasn't judgey and empathized with us the entire time. Not once did she make us feel incompetent or dumb. She demonstrated everything and had us try, too. She never over corrected and helped us if we did something incorrectly. She ALSO gave us a tailored training program, diet advice and guidance, and truly helped build confidence we never thought we'd have.

They do not use punishment or harmful training methods at all. I am very protective over my pups and I baby them to no end. I'm very picky about how they are disciplined and was so happy to see that none of their methods are cruel or scary.

Lissette gave us SO many resources. One usually thinks this process is stressful, but this was the first time in a long time I trusted my girls together. I am SO happy. I can't wait to keep learning from and working with Lissette.

If you need a dog trainer, nutritionist, or advisor: THESE ARE YOUR PEOPLE. So so glad we found them!

After moving to a new place, my outdoor dogs were having a hard time adjusting to being indoors and having my full attention. It led to a lot of territorial issues and jealousy over my attention so there was a LOT of fighting. We got desperate and found this place.
I love how trainers come to your home to properly train your dogs (and the owners :p) in the place where they would need it. Derek was amazing! He was the perfect mix of intimidating and friendly which worked for obedience with our dogs, though i'm a little stubborn.
My dogs no longer fight! There are occasional jealousy but it never gets too serious.
Derek wanted to make sure the dogs were ready for the holidays and they were so good during Christmas when my whole family visited us! It's all thanks to Derek!!

Bark busters is awesome. They have been working with our English bulldog since he was only a few months old. Not only have they helped us train him but have also given us advice on the proper food, leashes, and any other product you could imagine. All of their recommendations are amazing and have solved our dogs problems whether it be throwing up or dandruff. They also are ALWAYS available to answer questions, I always get a text back instantly when I have a question. They also are great at re-enacting real life situations in order to do hands-on training. For example, we were having a problem with our dog when we took him to Target, so they met us at Target for our training session and helped us on the spot! We are so thankful for them and would highly recommend their services to anyone!

Lissette and Derrick have been THE reason our pup has made improvements in behavior, nutrition and sleep. As brand new dog owners, we had no clue what we were doing. At the first visit we developed a plan of what we wanted to work on and learned skills that se day. Not only do they make the time to come to our home when needed, they are available for (sometimes) daily texting of questions, updates or clarifications and actually encourage the communication. One of the most important things they taught us in the process is that progress is 100% based on our commitment to doing the work. When we don't do our homework or are not consistent, it shows in his behavior. Then they come back and get us back on the right path again. This definitely an investment in our pup and it isn't cheap. Sometimes you get what you pay for, in the case of Bark Busters, you get so much more. They are worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. Your dog will thank you!

Derek and Lissette are amazing trainers. They have so much patience, they care so much. I have had other trainers in the past, they were not able to communicate to me the way I am able to communicate with my dogs now. They have the biggest hearts and so much knowledge about how a dog thinks and reacts.

Derek has been incredibly helpful in training my dog Harley. He has been super patient and understanding when dealing with Harley, as well as dealing with my family and I, as we have a hard time understanding Harley's behavior at times. My girl Harley is a 1yr old German shepherd, so as you can imagine she's a bit rambunctious at times and she can be stubborn. Harley started learning how to listen and obey me more, just a day or two after her first training session with Derek. Having patience and consistency when training your dog is the most important thing and it is without a doubt that the Bark Busters training method has been the best thing for Harley. They use no harmful methods, which was extremely important to me. Definitely recommend this business!

We got our puppy months back and couldn't be happier. After a month or so she started to just completely take over. She had zero respect for my wife and didn't listen to either of us at all. So I looked on yelp and contact Bark Busters. What can I say except Lissette with Bark Busters is amazing! Within minutes of her coming over the our baby was changed. It was like a night and day difference after that first visit. Wrigley was a different dog. Don't get me wrong she is not perfect (yet) but they will give you the tools to succeed in training the perfect dog. If you need help for any dog, any size, any age or pretty much anything at all you need to contact them immediately. You will not be disappointed!

Derek has taught me so much about dogs and their behavior. Not to mention how to take better care of my sweet girl so she lives a better life! I'm happy we found someone we can trust and who is extremely knowledgeable. Derek is more than just a dog trainer. He is always there for me to help and answer my questions or concerns. He is helping me to understand Allie and she is becoming the dog I have always wanted!

my sweet puppy was struggling with resource guarding. we couldn’t have guests over because he would have so much anxiety, would lunge at them, bark, air bite. Derek and Lissette came in and helped us, not even an hour later my roommate had a friend over and he was so chill and calm about it! we’ve been having people over with no problems since. thank you so much bark busters!! ❤️

Bark Busters is the best! We are so happy with the results from day 1. Lissette was so amazing. She has shown us techniques that has solved so many issues. Their training techniques work with no treats & no force. She fixed 5 issues in the first session. She is very knowledgable & professional. We highly recommend them. You will be amazed. I have been a client of Barkbusters for a little over a year now and trainer has been Derek-who is the best trainer I could’ve asked for really! I highly recommend him to every dog owner!! I have labradoodles and when I first hired Derek they had zero training and were wild! He helped me get them potty trained within a week. Then, taught me lots of the basics and then other things I wanted them to do that were to my standards of training (I like them a little wild and fun still lol!) recall, staying away from front door, not running out open door, not begging for food in my face, walking without pulling, stopping resource guarding (list goes on and on) it definitely takes time and consistency but the many things he’s taught me has worked. Also-he is so knowledgeable about everything dog related like nutritional stuff too which absolutely has an effect on dogs health and behavior! He taught me about what to feed and how much (got me to watch a great documentary about dog food that changed my life too lol) how much exercise my dogs need exactly and all these things really made a difference for us. I can now take my dogs everywhere I go as service animals due to his training! Literally just took one of them to Disneyland with my toddler and he had a blast too. Lol.

The best thing I love about him and Barkbusters is that they will train your dog for the rest of their life if you should need it (you won’t lol!) but-things have occasionally popped up where I freak out and need dog advice whether it be nutritional advice or behavioral and I send him a text and he always remembers who I am and gets back to me within an hr or 2, and sometimes even quicker. Always gives me answers and really helps me get my situation under control.

One of my dogs was giving me lots of problems with sudden and pretty severe resource guarding when he was like 10-12 months old maybe..he was able to help me through it and now my dog is 2 and hasn’t had any issues whatsoever around our other dogs or any other dogs he’s around. :)

Recently, I accidentally slammed my cars door on my dogs tail and my dog started acting different around me at times, and refused to get in my car again. I msgd Derek and he listened to me talk a lot and gave me advice on how to use positive reinforcement to get him back into my car and explained and gave tips and I followed exactly what he said and in 1-2 weeks he was hopping back in my car on his own and totally forgot the trauma response he had built.

Today, I had a random dog question and even though I don’t need training these days, I texted him (late at night) and he was kind enough to get back to me shortly after that even though it was late! So honestly, he’s not just great at training but I feel he is genuinely a good person who cares about all dogs, and truly cares about his clients too. He’s never tried to upsell other services or products I don’t need and just gives good advice and info which as a lifelong dog owner I’m always going to need lol.

Also, his wife is a trainer too at Barkbusters! Her name is lisette! I only had her come out once or twice when my dogs were puppies and I was sooooo impressed by her too!!! My crazy puppies got in line instantly just having her in their presence!! I was shocked!!! Lol

Overall, I have been very happy with Barkbusters and I can’t speak for all their trainers but I can definitely recommend Derek. He really cares about every dog! Thanks for always being there for me and my pups! <3

I can’t recommend Bark Busters enough. My girlfriend and I have two medium to large sized dogs (a pitbull mix and a Belgian Malinois). When we tried to introduce them on our own they did not get along at all—were very aggressive and tried to attack each other through the fence constantly . We were moving in together and needed the dogs to get along in the new house. We called Bark Busters and Derek showed us different training techniques and put us on a 5 week regimen. We stuck to the regimen and techniques and we were able to move in with the dogs loving each other. Derek was available for questions throughout the process and continually checked up on us because he genuinely cared about our dogs. Bark Busters was a life saver

Lisette and Derek are great trainers and truly understand how to speak dog. They care deeply about my precious 8-year old Samson the Pittmaraner, and because of this his behavior improved within days, with reinforcement throughout the month.

He went from restless to calm, reactive with the leash to respectful with it, destroying toys in seconds to respecting it/leaving it alone when asked, and more!

I love that they teach me to understand my dog so I can develop a stronger relationship with him.

Derek has worked with muffin for a year now and we’re extremely thankful for his knowledge & expertise.
