John was GREAT today with my dog. I had so much fun getting to connect with my dog Lucia on a different level. It was awesome seeing her improvement in just 3 hours.

We had a very positive experience with Erin. Our problem is with aggression in a 2 year shepherd we adopted. She spent a lot of time with us on our first visit. Over and above what we expected. The first day after his first session and he’s already catching on. It turns out what we originally thought we were supposed to be doing only encouraged his aggressive behavior. Erin is very knowledgeable and obviously very passionate about her business. Highly Recommend!

Dan has been so helpful in achieving our goals for our dog. We are first time pup parents and a bit in over our heads. We thought Dan was a dog trainer, in fact, he is an excellent owner trainer. Yes, he has trainer magic and Charlie behaves like a prince when Dan has the lead. But Dan's strength is teaching us some of that magic. Thanks to him, we have gone from a house run by a canny border collie poodle mix to having a well trained, respectful, joyful companion in Charlie. At two years old, Charlie passes his Public Access test on his first try. Thank you Dan for your ongoing support.

Our 9-ish year old dog has been scared of new dogs since she was a puppy. So, we were very scared about introducing her to our new dog. With Bark Busters help, she was down right welcoming to our new dog - much to our surprise and delight.

Gusty came by today to help my godparents with their dog Mylo. He has been struggling with barking and stranger aggression and we have spoken to a few other trainers without success. Both of my godparents are older and slightly disabled so I was concerned about their ability to be able to train Mylo and to be consistent. However, after only 1 hour, Gusty had already begun to curve his behavior significantly and given my godmother (and me) significant hope for the future! By the end of the lesson we felt like we knew exact how to handle the situation and were excited to learn more. I cannot recommend her more! If you have any concerns about your dog's behavior or simply want to learn more about the way they think, trust me and give her a call, you won't regret it!

I either have the smartest Maltese or the best trainer in Texas.
PermalinkMason Erwin gave us our first training lesson yesterday and today my dog surprised me with her calm and obidient manner. I am enjoying my day without having my lunatic dog running around barking and biting. Mason is Amazing!

On November 3, 2023, our family rescued a dog from Texas. We knew there would be an adjustment period for the new dog, Pawblo, and our existing dog, Viivi. It turned out to be more than we bargained for and within days we were on the phone to Barkbusters. We had used this company in the past and were happy with that experience.
PermalinkWe were connected to Bonnie Ober and she came to meet us on November 25, 2023 and stayed for more than three hours. She took time to hear our descriptions and concerns and immediately had things for us to do to diffuse the situation.
The new dog was attacking our other dog for no apparent reason. Some of the hotspots were narrow passageways and doors. We had no clue what to do to prevent this from happening. Bonnie did. She helped us to understand what was going on in both dogs’ minds, why the conflicts were happening and had step by step instructions on how to handle the conflict. Every step was kind, clear, and never heavy handed. With lots of practice, the problems with the dogs at the doors, and the attacks were overcome. We were taught vocalizations and the sequencing of using them to control the dogs. We all finally learned them and things have been much better.
If an approach isn’t working, Bonnie will modify it and she definitely thinks outside the box. One of us is handicapped and she has been very helpful thinking of work arounds for that. Bonnie thinks quickly and thoroughly, which makes it possible for her to help with unusual circumstances. She has been available to answer questions between sessions and is a source of expertise and encouragement. Her manner is calm, patient, and knowledgeable. She inspires hope and confidence; a can-do attitude. I also believe that she would honestly tell us what we can and cannot expect from our situation; no false hope.
Pawblo and Viivi still have work to do, as do we, but we are hopeful about the future.
We saw improvement within the first few days. Life is much better around here and it is only going to get better. Thank you, Bonnie!

I was so discouraged that I tried everything I knew & could not help my 5-1/2 month old chihuahua. I got him when he was 4-1/2 months old, & from what the vet & myself could tell, he was never socialized or minimally socialized. Because of this, he was extremely scared of people, barked at everything, would not walk with the leash, & when I held him around people he would constantly shake, growl/bark & try to bite if they got too close. He was a mess & I was heartbroken for him.
PermalinkI decided to hire a trainer that would come to my house & what I found in Joanne was a lifeline. Before she even worked with my puppy, she asked me questions, thoroughly answered mine, & reviewed her training methods & how we’ll move forward. I was also trained during that time…..a must in my experience. Then, I brought my puppy into the room & the training began. I will say it’s imperative that you make changes & to work with your puppy/dog everyday.
Fast forward to two weeks & even before the two weeks, my puppy loves to go walking & he no longer is barking incessantly at people or other animals (a little ruff will escape every so often but when I correct him he immediately stops). He is getting more comfortable around people, & he doesn’t try to bite them when I’m holding him. The shaking is minimal. He is a completely different puppy & a much happier one too!! Our relationship has even blossomed & I have Joanne to thank for that.
This is a long review but I wanted you to know how bad things were & the difference training has made in just two weeks. If you are thinking about a trainer, I HIGHLY recommend Joanne. I am so happy I called her because no way was I able to do this on my own. Not only can I enjoy him, but little by little so can others. Don’t give up on your puppy/dog……hire Joanne!! You’ll be happy you did!!
